Before making the report literally, the Safety officer / Engineer should go to the site area in person together with the Area Supervisor and have an inspection look sincerely and try to foresee each and every Risks present at the site area.

How to foresee for risks at site during Safety Inspection?

When the Safety Officer / Engineer is doing the foresee, he must do the basic formulae for Risk.

Risk = Hazard X Consequences

At the time of over seeing, give a number to both, Hazard and Consequences and get a rough calculation and get the value of Risk for each and every activities of the site. After a rough mind calculation, determine which activity has the high risk value and give the best priority for that activity and line up the activities one by one with respect to the risk values. Also got the photographs of the observations you are noting down.

Then write each and everything and the rough calculations in a write pad or Rough tag. Then go and sit in your office and make the fair copy of the Safety Observation / Inspection report. When making the Safety Inspection report, the most recommended MS software is MS Word.

1. Fill the above mentioned format with the following things;

Date of Site Safety Inspection

Area name of Safety Inspection

Name of Sub contractors ( if any )

Name of Area Supervisor

Time of picture taken

Description of the Observation

Recommendation for the observation

Preventive Measures for avoiding the repentance of the Unsafe act / condition observed

2. Safety Officer / Engineer should sign below the report, get approval from the Project manager / Safety Manager.

3. After making the complete report, the Safety Observation / Inspection report has to be forwarded to all the area Supervisors and Managers related to the Construction project or the Industry managers and the higher officials. After forwarding, there should be a rectification track made for all the observations taken and follow each and every observations getting rectified.
